BUILD-A-BEAR – Philanthropy and Lunch with Iota Xi and Omicron Omicron

11:00 a.m. at The St. Louis Galleria

Meet at the Build-A-Bear Workshop. We will be purchasing bears for the Delta Zeta Philanthropy Project.  Bears range from $10 – $15, clothing, accessories, and sounds range from $3 – $16.  They also have a new Bear Hearing Aide accessory! Everyone can choose how  much to spend and we will donate the finished bears. If you don’t feel like you can donate an entire bear, you may share the cost with others.

Starkey/Build-A-Bear Project
Delta Zeta alumnae and collegiate members can help us provide bears with hearing aid attachments from Build-A-Bear so that children at an upcoming hearing mission can have a ‘furry friend just like them’.

Jane’s service with Delta Zeta started during her collegiate years when she was Secretary, Vice President of Recruitment and Parlimentarian for the Iota Xi Chapter. She also served as campus Panhellenic President. As an alumna, she has continued to serve Delta Zeta in various capacities; former advisor to the Iota Xi and Omicron Omicron (Lindenwood University) Chapters; Past President of the St. Louis Alumnae Chapter; and currently is a member of the Columbus, Ohio Alumnae Chapter serving that chapter as the Philanthropy Chairman. Jane is an active member in her church and has utilized her leadership skills in various capacities within that organization.

Professionally, Jane is the Vice President of Investor Services at JPMorganChase. Her expertise in investments and fiduciary responsibilities are skills ideal for her continued service with Delta Zeta as a Trustee. Asked why she was interested in the Trustee position, Jane responded, “In looking at how I can continue to contribute time and talents, when this opportunity became available, I believed it to be a great opportunity for me to become more involved in Delta Zeta in a different capacity as well as serving the Sorority with skills that I possess.”

We thank Jane for her service to Delta Zeta and look forward to her continued involvement as a Foundation Trustee. I know that you will join us in appreciation and congratulations to Jane by sending a card or note to her.

We also wish to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sonja Nay Wise, Delta Chapter, DePauw University, for her many years of service as a member of the Foundation Trustee Board. Sheila Burkett serves as our delegate, but we really need an alternate delegate to serve with Sheila.

St. Louis Panhellenic Alternate Delegate Responsibilities include:

  • attend monthly lunch meetings (11:30 lunch; meeting from 12-1 pm) the first Monday of the month between September – May (free lunch!)
  • participate in the St. Louis Alumnae Panhellenic Association fundraisers
  • assist the DZ Delegate as needed with DZ’s rotating responsibilities on the Panhellenic Alumnae Association (we are Publicity this year)
  • assist with communication back to the DZ Alumnae chapter as needed

The President and Treasurer would assist in maintaining the housing needs such as interaction with National and UMSL about our contract, maintenance, and payments. The Housing Corp would also assist with any issues that need to be addressed with members living in the house,
following rules, etc. Meetings would be once per month, as needed. A Housing Manager from Iota Xi would also have close communication with the Housing Corporation.

I am also looking for a Co-Event Chairman to assist me with planning Alumna events around Missouri close to Alumna Chapters and coordinating a Founders Day event this year!
